The Very Hungry Caterpillar

I know you all know ERIC CARLE (and, of course THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR), so that is a very good reason to use it. The topic I am working with my YEAR 1 students in SCIENCE is food. This story is perfect for that purpose. Of course, we told the story in class. Here I share two beautiful videos with you. On the first one you can listen to Eric Carle himself reading the story:

I like the second one very much. It is a wonderful animation.

Another advantage of using a story so very well known is that it is very easy to find activities for your lessons. On the following blog you can find nearly a 100 ideas:

Today, some parents visited our school as part of our OPEN DAY (we will be doing open days all the week). They visited our LEIS (Lego Education Innovation Studio),

and this is what my students created using STORY TALES.

First of all, of course, the egg.

The caterpillar comes next...

He ate a lot...

And she became a butterfly!

This inpiration for this idea came from a friend of mine and from the following website:

Hope you like it! My students did!

    1. Thanks a lot, my friend. They really did, and I see they also enjoyed it in Italy. That's wonderful. A few days ago I used Marzia's idea about carnival. I'm really happy that ideas fly so far...
