Traditional games with Schleich animal figures

Recently we have been playing traditional games to teach English learners. Instead of vocabulary cards we used Schleich animal figures.

Feely bag game

Put an animal figure in a bag. Children take turns to put their hand in the bag and guess what it is.

 Musical cards

Play any music. Children sit in a circle and pass animal figures round the circle.

Pause the music. Children hold their animal up and make a sentence to describe it.

 

Fruit salad

Children sit in the circle of chairs and hold an animal figure. The person without a chair stands in the centre. The player in the middle calls out  the chosen animal, kids assigned to that animal must change their place. Meanwhile, the pupil in the middle tries to get a seat.
