Batik techinque

Batik is a technique of dyeing applied to whole cloth. Batik is made either by a string or rope tied around the cloth.

The chidren chose how to tie the string around their own white t-shirt. The applied string allows the blue colour not to enter some part of the cloth, creating circular design.

The batik by soaking the cloth in the blue colour was made by teachers and the day after the children removing the rope.

It's possible repeating if multiple colours are desired.

Children and teachers of class 2, Primary school Rodari, chose the blue color because they worked about water and their school trip was to Como Lake.

There , always connected with water, the chidren became artists with watercolors.

Wonderful results... and a lot of fun!

Early years pupils working with Story Tales

Early Years pupils have been creating different stories in small groups and then they had to explain their invented stories to their classmates. They were developing colaborative skills and creativity as well. Here you have the nice results:

Earth day, 22nd April at G Rodari Primary School, Saronno

On 22nd April  is Earth  day.
Different activities in class 1 at G.Rodari Primary School ( Saronno)  and ousides.  From Science to Art.
Famous painting about nature, reflecting about the beauty of our planet,talking about the environment, choosing respectful actions.
They read books about the environmental treasures:

Children of class 1 worked in groups to create different natural landscapes: from the wood to the sea.

The planet Earth is our treasure! Save it! Don't litter in woods and forests! in the parks ,too!

The men have to protect nature!It's a social responsibility!

Avoid pollution in the seas and oceans. 

     

Sea Life is wonderful

And after working with lego bricks they danced  and sung for celebrate  this day.

It's important to develope an environmental responsibility from chilhood.

They walked outside the school and went to drinkable water dispenser in order to understand how to reduce the use of plastic bottles.

Class 2 used lego bricks  ( from lego storystarter kit) to create and describe environmental responsability

respecting flowers, plants and animals.

The students have surely understood the value of simple actions to help pout planet and our future!

Visit the bookshop in Saronno

 The 1 class of G.Rodari Primary School visited a bookshop in Saronno.

Children listened to a tale.

Then  they had to create the end in small groups. 

Teachers showed them some books of different kind.

They have time to choose a 

book and to sit and read.

Oh, what a pleasure! They read with some difficulties:they are starters  but they like reading!

Plants

The children of Class 1 of G.Rodari Primary  schools go on working with Clil.
The topic is  the plant.
The activity started observing the different plants in our school garden.
Where dies a plant come from?
From  the  seed.

Problem solving

It 's interesting to see how children find out solutions and cooperate to find new ones.

They listened to a short story with the possibility  of different solutions. The built bridges to allow a meeting between two lego friends.

They explained their choices to the class .

Colored bricks & Blocks in kindergarten

It 's interesting to see how our didatical actions are very similar after 1 year  of common work. Sharing experiences and best practices is our main aim.
