Make phonics fun with a tongue twister

Tongue twisters can help children learn phonics in fun, meaningful ways. Further, tongue twisters support an awareness of how language works.  A quick look at the Alphablocks tongue twister below shows sentences with easily identifiable nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.  Finally, the humour in tongue twisters helps children focus on meaning while reinforcing their understanding of phonics and sentence structure.

Oh, no
One, two, three go!

After working hard with the Alphablocks tongue twister children relaxed building their own "Get the brick" scene with LEGO stuff.

Then they had to tell me how to overcome the obstacles and get the brick employing the action vocabulary (jog, jig, hop, dig) and different prepositions (across, under, over...) learnt through the video.
