Father's Day

 Father’s Day (El Día del Padre in Spanish) is celebrated in Spain on St. Joseph’s Day which falls on March 19. St. Joseph’s Day is a  feast day designated to commemorate the life of Joseph, husband of Mary, an example of what a good husband and father is for his role within the Holy Family. 

 This holiday is very important in Spain as it acknowledges the contribution of fathers within the family and society as a whole. It is also the time to honor those family members and friends who fulfill the role of father-figures. In Spain, it is not uncommon for the whole family to get together for a big meal and to give small gifts to their father. In year two, mothers and their children worked together to make a craft and give it to their fathers on their day. It was very nice!

Creating a Fan

After the success that LEGO We Do materials had among my YEAR 6 students

WHERE WILD THINGS ARE

 we performed a second activity using the same material. On this occasion,  two students who are very good at  programming proposed a simpler activity: creating a fan.  

They supervised and helped those who needed it.  They all suceeded (GREAT JOB, MARCOS AND PEDRO!)

 As always, there were students able to go a little further and include variants, such as motion sensors.

Brand new Erasmus+ corner in Ynystawe

During my Job Shadowing in Ynystawe Primary School, I have created this display which includes nice works done by pupils from Salamanca, Clermont Ferrand and Swansea. I will create a similar one back in Salamanca so we will be looking forward to get your posters, letters or anything you feel like your pupils can do to go in there.

SAINT PATRICK

Today with the pupils we talk about SAINT PATRICK.
Of course, we draw shamrocks, symbol of ireland,and LEPRECHAUNS we discover the story of Patrick died in 17 march 461. 

We try to dance the irish dancing, and we come to School dressed with Green.

Investigating current flow

As we already know, science can be really interesting and absorbing. We've just checked current flow. We saw how a lightbulb attached to a battery lights up. We also used different objects, such as a teaspoon or a coin to prove that everyday objects are a perfect source of energy and can induce current.

Creatures in Arts and Crafts lesson

Arts and Crafts is a subject in which everyone can develop their artistic subskills in a way they want to. In the last lesson kids tried to sew, which resulted in creating beautiful mascots. Even though everyone had to work on their own, with their own ideas, the results were highly professional and satisfied everyone. In the end, students decided who they will give their new mascots to.
