The Art of Cooking

Students in our school love cooking. We have cooking clubs and cooking lessons but once in a while we visit professionals to show us "the real work". Christmas is good time to do so. We went to "Zmokła Kura" to learn how to make peanutbutter and orange cookies. The rusults were delicious:)

Story telling

Our frirstgraders have reading classes every second week. We read and work with different books from Disney ones to serious legends.
After "Finding Nemo" we made an aquarium and "The Legend of Loch Ness Monster" was an inspiration to make monsters.

From Least to Greatest

Today we have made a very fun game in math class, in second grade.

  

First, in pairs, we have measured our partner.

Second, we have written down on a paper the centimetres that we exceed one metre, for example, if you are 1 metre and 25 centimetres tall, you write down 25 on a piece of paper. 

Third, we have used the numbers written on the papers to order ourselves from "least to highest". .

Fourth, we have reflected on the result: 

the numbers were well ordered, however, we were not properly ordered by height. Surely we have not measured our partners well.

Power Car

The 5th graders made a Power Car that could climb hills. They tried different combinations of wheels and gearing to achieve the best pulling power. They also tested how heavy a load the best Power Car could pull.

Secret messages

In this science experiment the 4th graders became masters of steganography by preparing their own invisible ink. They used cotton swabs to write a massage onto white paper using baking soda and water solution as invisible ink. The recipients read the messages by holding the paper up to a heat source.

FLL: Water-Treatment Plant

Some students of the school will take part in JUNIOR FIRST LEGO LEAGUE challenge called AQUA ADVENTURE; and the older ones in FIRST LEGO LEAGUE, being HYDRO DYNAMICS the challenge. 

For this reason we have visited the  WATER-TREATMENT PLANT in Salamanca. 

Water treatment is any process that makes water more acceptable for a specific end use. In this case, our students were investigating about the process so that water becomes fit for drinking. 

We would like to say thank you to AQUALIA SALAMANCA for allowing us to visit the water treatment plant; and also to ADRIÁN, who showed us the plant explaining how it works and turning the visit into a wonderful learning experience. 

Dancing Birds

The second grade students enjoyed with Antonio, building and programming a couple of "Dancing Birds." 

They used the robotics set LEGO WE DO. 

The activity is proposed by 

 SALAMANCA CIUDAD DE SABERES

to promote knowledge of educational robotics in the classroom.

Creative Corner.

The fifth grade students have done a great job for ARTS AND CRAFTS subject.

 These motivating phrases...

were the starting point to create there WORK OF ART: 

that is what they have been taught: EVERY SINGLE PRODUCTION THEY DO WITH INTEREST AND DEDICATION IS ART!

For that reason, we have dedicated a CREATIVE CORNER so that they can  share their great creations with others.
